Saltiest Body Of Water

If you think that ocean water can be rather salty, think again. That is because this particular lake is actually one of the saltiest bodies of water that the world has. The Dead Sea water is so salty that it is almost impossible to swim there. Most people tend to simply relax and float in it. There is also no reason for you to swim there because you will not see a single aquatic animal.

No fish or any other aquatic species can survive there. That is one of the reasons why it is named as such. The lake is considered as a fisherman’s nightmare, but for those who don’t like strange things underwater, it is perfect. Scientists said that the lake is so inhabitable, only some form of bacteria can live there.

The Dead Sea Mud That Benefits The Skin

The most common reason why people from all over the world visit this place is not because of the saltwater. It is actually because of the mud on the seabed of The Dead Sea. The mud is not just an ordinary mud, because it is full of magnesium, sodium, calcium, and potassium. The mud looks almost black and it is ideal for the skin. This is why it is known to be the best natural spa in the world. Even the Egyptian queen Cleopatra is believed to have loved this place because of it. It is said that it was a part of her natural beauty regimen.

It is also incredibly safe to sunbathe here. The Dead Sea is located below the sea level, which is why the harmful UV rays are naturally filtered. This does not mean you should not wear sunscreen though. You can still get sunburnt, but not as fast and not as bad.
